Hermes Experiment's third Delphian album has won Presto's Concept Album of the Year award

Hermes Experiment wins Presto's Concept Album of the Year award for their most recent album TREE.

‘The natural world has long been a popular theme for concept albums, but it’s rarely been explored with such imagination and eclecticism as it is across this programme featuring music by composers including Jacquet de la Guerre, Nicola LeFanu, Errollyn Wallen and Abel Selaocoe. It’s extraordinary to hear the array of colours and textures which are conjured up from this small ensemble – comprising just soprano, harp, clarinet and double bass - and Héloïse Werner’s dazzling range of extended vocal techniques is as startling as ever.’ Chris O'Reilly (Presto)

The Hermes Experiment’s third Delphian album is a meditation on nature, memory and change.Commissioned works and vivid reimaginings are complemented by new compositions by the ensemble’s members, exploring the human instinct to find emotional meaning in the natural world – in birdsong, trees, storms, stars.
